FOOD: JUICE FEAST

Juicing. It is something that has been a part of my life for as long as I could remember. At 6 years old I could remember my father making us carrot apple juice, and I was in love with it then. I have always juiced fruits and veggies throughout my life. The aspect of juicing I want to discuss is juice fasting or as some people call is juice “feasting” for a period of time. Most modern thoughts on this are that this bad for you, you are starving yourself and that this is something you should stay away from. However, more holistic theories believe the contrary, that juice fasting gives a much needed break to your digestive system, it gives your body time to heal, and delivers a great influx of vitamins to your body. In my experience I tend to side with the holistic theory. From the juice fast that I have done I have experienced better health (I didn’t get a cold for a year), clear skin, more energy, weight loss, and eradication of all food cravings. I could use pages to type about this topic and I plan to have more post about my experience with juicing. Before you think about doing any type of juice fast do your research, a book I have used for years is Juice Fasting & Detoxification by Steve Meyerowitz. Happy Juice Feast!
