ALL THESE LOOKS ARE FROM SALLY'S

One of my favorite things to do is go vintage shopping at my local Salvation Army which I affectionately call “Sally’s”. There are so many trendy fashionable looks out that right now that I feel that if you can always find something that is stylish and wonderful you just have to know how to look so I want to share some tips to finding your next great find at Sally’s!

Stay away from t-shirts, tank tops, and sweats. While you should have these items in your wardrobe you don’t need to purchase them second hand and usually these items are really worn out.

Do your research. Look up some of the hot trends right now before you visit Sally’s because chances are you can find something that you might want to try out and a cheap find at Sally’s is the perfect place to do it at. One of my favorite sites for style inspiration is www.lookbook.nu

Fur and wool are timeless. These are go to items in Sally’s. they are always in style and if you can find some good items they don’t look too worn they are perfect.

Please try the clothes on! This is more like a warning. I have purchased some things at Sally’s that didn’t’ quite look the same when I brought them home. I always tell my friends try all things on! It is so crucial.

Stay away from items that “Date” the clothes. Such as sparkles, lace, beads, tassels, fishnet, studs and rhinestones usually put a timestamp on the item you are buying you may want to stay away from things like this.

STYLE: THE SPACE YOU LOVE

I really feel like a great space is one of the cornerstones to living well. You have to have that one space that you can just be you and that looks so fabulous that you look twice. I can spend hours in my space because it just feels so right and it’s me. So how do you rox your own space without going broke?  I have a few solutions for you and they work! Believe it or not none of the furniture in my room cost more than $100.

Upgrade existing furniture. Most of the furniture in my room I made. I choose some high quality black spray paint and white paint and gave old worn out furniture an upgrade. Maybe you have an old dresser or vanity that needs a makeover. Have imagination when you go to thrift stores or look on craig’s list the opprotunities are endless.

Look for amazing accent pieces. Since my room has revamped furniture I decided to accessorize with pieces that “looked” high end to glam up the room such as a crystal chandelier and crystal candle holders and picture frames. It made my somewhat shabby totally chic.

Never too many mirrors. I love mirrors they spread light and open up a room. I have three larger mirrors in my space and it really brings the room alive. Mirrors can be expensive so I like to look at yard sales or the salvation army for mirrors that you can repaint to suit your style

Pictures personalize your space. Go through facebook one day and pick 10 of your favorite pictures they can be moments with friends or family and print them out in different sizes and colors frame them and you have instantly warmed up your space.

Devoute covers rox! This tip can transform your room on a budget. A simple devoute cover can be gorgeous and give your room a totally new look while being very inexpensive. I paid only $40 for mine at TJ Maxx and it came with pillow cases.

I am a firm believer in luxury on a budget so go head and rox your room out! Send me your pictures!

STYLE: LET IN THE LIGHT

Light, can be such a mood changer. The cold dark days of winter can be so depressing. I really believe that light indoor can combat those blues. I can be a bit excessive 2 lamps a chandelier but it really brightens my mood for a bit when I come home and its all so bright and lovely. If you aren’t so into the bright lights go for colored light with a light bulb or change it up with a paper statute lamp from ikea. Light is a cheap and stylish way of beating your winter blues and making your space even more lovable.
